The Town of of Islip held its annual Apple Festival at the Islip Grange, Montauk Highway and Broadway Ave. in Sayville on Saturday, October 13, 2007.

It was a spectacular sunny fall day with great live music, entertainment and arts and craft vendors such as Sayville's own Dawn Jones of Glass House Creations with her beautiful custom glass handmade jewelry.

With the atmosphere of an old time harvest, the festival had something for everyone with wonderful food including roasted corn, sweet potato fries, hot apple puffs, apple cider and of course plenty of Apples!

The Sayville fire Department sold bags of tasty apples, pumpkins and Halloween costumes. The VFW Post 433 located on Lakeland Avenue raffled off an amazing wine basket who will make one fairgoer very happy.

Many local politicians and candidates were present to meet and greet the public ahead of the fall elections. Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan was handing out brochures. New York State Senator Caesar Trunzo handed out free apples. Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy had an informational table. Clara Datre, Candidate for Islip Town Supervisor handed out free carrying bags.

As always, the Apple Festival was great fun for the entire family and if you didn't make it be sure to attend this annual event next fall.
