Sayville's own, Palau Survivor Tom Westman returned to the Sayville Beach for the Sayville Village Improvement Society's annual beach party.

The party was held August 28 and  the rain held off long enough for the Society members and friends to get together and enjoy good food, cold drinks and  music by The De-Fenders.

Pictured to the left are party goers delighting in stuffed mushrooms, hot dogs, wraps, ham and cheese hero and many other goodies while John Robilotta and Roberta Carey served wine.

The admission fee of $15.00 along with the rest of the money raised at the event pays for such good deeds as flower pots on Main Street and scholarships for local students.

Below is Tom Westman exchanging jokes with party enthusiasts. He was first introduced to the beach party last year by his wife and Society member Bernadette.

The Sayville Village Improvement Society is a ladies club formed in 1914 for the betterment of their community. They donated the property for the public beach where the party was held and were also founders of the Sayville Library.
