The Ken Stein Memorial Scholarship Foundation held its annual fundraising event on July 12, 2006 at the Island Breeze restaurant in Cherry Grove.

Over one hundred people boarded the Empress for the ferry ride across the choppy bay in stormy weather.


 

Before dinner was served Judy Stein and Gwen Zegel talked about Ken Stein Jr and the Foundation. Chuck Triolo spoke briefly about this year's two scholarship recipients.

Loud thunder and intermittent heavy rains did not slow down the bartenders who kept the party going. Jack played the piano all night and a good time was had by all.

The evening raffle raised an additional $1400. The top raffle prizes - two red wagons of cheer - were awarded to Judy Raynor and Pam Raymond.
