4 Sayville Wrestlers earn ALL STATE honors at the 44th Annual New York State Freestyle and Greco-Roman Cadet and Junior Championships held May 5-7 in Binghamton.

Travis Pitre (8th) placed 4th at 119#; Shawn Mazzarone (So.) placed 3rd at 145#; AJ Maier (Jr.) placed 5th at 135#; Dave Bachy (Sr.) placed 4th at 160#. This is the second consecutive year Shawn Mazzarone and AJ Maier earned the honors as Shawn and AJ each placed 6th in 2005.

The 4 Sayville Grapplers earned a spot in the National Championship tournament held this July in Fargo North Dakota.

Congratulations and keep up the hard work. You made Sayville proud.

Graduating team Captains - Corey Sullivan (Binghamton); Dave Bachy (Wesleyan); Rich Pellegrini (Wilkes) and Harrison Grimm (NYU) are all continuing their wrestling careers in college. All 4 will be sorely missed for their leadership on and off the mat. Best of luck. (You'll always be apart of the Sayville Grapplers Family)
