"Model Community" Calendar Makes News

News vans for ABC, NBC and CBS rolled into Sayville today, Wednesday, December 28 to interview the business owners and residents and find out the scoop behind the highly talked about 2006 Common Ground calendar.

Zee Morrissey of the Rotary Club organized the calendar which featured community members almost baring it all, covering themselves with everything from umbrellas to shopping bags in various locations throughout the town. The photography was donated by Roma Photographers while Weeks and Reichel Printing the calendars at cost. Proceeds of the calendar will go to upgrade the Common Ground park created after the September 11th terrorist attacks. The "Model Community" calendar sold out of the 1,000 copies at $11 a piece and made close to $10,000 profit. There will be a second print run of this calendar and the list of people interested in appearing next year's calendar is already growing which could really turn this calendar into an Annual event.

Pamela Raymond owner of The Sayville Inn also, "Ms. December," Claire Eberbach-Smith and Dave Smith of Printsmith, Sayville Pilot Club members, Robert Reichel from Weeks & Reichel Printing, post office clerk James Toolan, aka "Mr. October," retired nurse Anne Dunphy behind Thornhill's Pharmacy counter or "Ms. February" and police officer Joel Reines, posing as "Mr. May" are among the new celebrities of 2006.
