On November 26, 2005 Old South Main Street was closed for traffic and the crowds poured in for a Holiday Celebration. The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce welcomed everybody to the Annual Tree Lighting and Caroling by Candlelight Ceremony dedicated to all our Servicemen,  Servicewomen and with warm remembrance for Ann Weimar of Sayville Antiques. The Chamber extended special thanks to all their loyal customers who help keep Sayville such a vital business community and wished everybody Peace, Joy and Love this holiday season.

The entertainment was provided by Allison Paris with Jim Ahrend on Piano who often play on Saturdays at the Collins & Main Restaurant. Ms. Paris sang wonderful renditions of  "The Christmas Song," "Silver Bells," "Jingle Bells," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Frosty the Snow Man" while people of all ages joined in the singing while holding glowing candles.

Michael Furlinger, the Sayville Chamber President introduced Suffolk County Legislator William Lindsay and State Assemblywoman Ginny Fields who in turn each made holiday wishes to the crowd and our troops. A special dedication to our Serviceman and Servicewomen was announced by Mr. Furlinger before "I'll Be Home For Christmas."

Santa arrived just in time to count down the Tree Lighting with candy canes for all the good little girls and boys who were anxious to see him while "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" and "Oh Christmas Tree" filled the winter air. "Deck the Halls," "Silent Night" and "Winter Wonderland" brought the Ceremony to a close with carolers mingling about while enjoying incredibly delicious complimentary Gingerbread Lattes and Hot Chocolates provided by Starbucks Coffee of Sayville.
