Barn House Halloween Fair

Sayville's Flower & Garden Shoppe on N Main Street held a Barn house Halloween Fair on October 8 and 9, 2005. The Fair was complete with a Petting Zoo with farm animals featuring chickens, ducks, a turkey, two bunnies, a couple of goats and one exotic peacock named Homer. The children were able to feed the goats, play with the bunnies and gaze at the magnificent peacock. 

Other children's activities included "guess the weight of the pumpkin," pick and paint your own pumpkin and win prizes.   

The Haunted house had eerie ghosts and goblins, scary spiders,  rodents, monsters, fake blood dripping and globs in jars. It was scary enough to make children and parents alike go inside again and again. Surrounding the house, was the freshly dug cemetery, guarded by Frankenstein and dusty witches in a thick fog coming off the pond and waterfall.

All around the garden colorful mums and pumpkins welcomed customers. There were arranged to fit the festive Halloween theme. Along the path there was an evil clown moving, a witch stirring "body parts" in a cauldron and an old farmer greeting the visitors.

This was definitely well worth the trip. There was so much to see and it really was a beautiful set up for the whole family to enjoy.
