I am seeking some assistance from the good people of Sayville.

I represent the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Sayville. I am in search of people to participate in our fundraiser and become more involved. One of the great things about RELAY is that it doesn't take much from anyone. We never ask for more then someone is willing to give. I have lived in Sayville all of my life and have been involved with this relay since its inception 8 years ago. It always amazes me that still so many people in Sayville have no idea what Relay is yet it goes on right in our back yards, year after year.

The actual Relay is June 12th (Saturday) and is held on the track of Sayville Middle School. It is an over-night event. The reason for it being over night is because cancer doesn't sleep. So for one night, we will give up our luxuries and warm beds to show that we are willing to fight with those who currently battling cancer, fight for those who cant fight, and fight for those we have lost to cancer, in their memory. We are striving to create a world with less cancer, and more birthdays.

Our 2009 Relay season was a huge success. Suffolk County was ranked 3rd in the nation due to the fact that we raised 1.6 million dollars. The Sayville Relay alone raised approximately $47,000.

The purpose of this letter is to find out how we can team up with our community to raise more money then any other year. While the economy is tough on all of us, imagine how tough it is for someone paying amazingly high medical bills.

The following dates are Team Captain Meetings. These meetings are held at Sayville Library and are open to the public. This is where people can find out more about our event and find out how they want to be involved.

It is as simple as going to the website and registering a team. If someone wanted to just make a donation, they can also just visit the page and make a donation to the event, a specific team, or specific person.
