Photographer Chris Vultaggio has proudly
called Sayville his business base for many
years, and was just recently honored with
first place in the 2010 Best of Long
Island competition. Chris’ style is richly
displayed in his Railroad Avenue
studio-front gallery, as well as in
Tanger’s Arches in Deer Park shopping
center.
He has worked closely with many Sayville
institutions: the Common Ground, Sayville
School District, the Sayville Chamber of
Commerce, and Eastern Suffolk BOCES, and
is always happy to speak or lecture on his
art.
Locally his focus is on fine art
portraits, from life achievement events
like Communions and Maternity to capturing
the artistic grace in the human subject.
Chris prides himself on his photographic
storytelling ability, and in addition to
his warm studio he works in many “hidden
gem” locations across the island
sure to multiple cultures as one of his
most valued inspirations.
“Wish"
Drawing on a
global mix of influences, Chris combines his
Masters level art study with practical
shooting experience around the globe; he’s
photographed on assignment on 5 of the 7
continents and cites exposure to multiple
cultures as one of his most valued
inspirations.
Besides portraiture Chris focuses his business
on corporate and commercial clients – before
opening his own studio he has worked over 7
years as a senior photographer in the
corporate world and retains a global list of
clients.
Chris considers his favorite photography to be
both landscape and sports-based – combining
two of his biggest passions, photography and
adventure. From the average (shooting on the
PGA tour and professional tri-athletes) to the
unusual (photographing high-ascent rock and
ice climbs, downhill mountain biking
competitions in British Columbia) Chris’
approach to sports photography mixes action,
emotion and environment. Recently has
committed to a side project that highlights
the women in sports, telling the stories of
amateur and professional women and their
passions for achievement.
While he travels on assignment often, while in
studio his door is always open to residents
who want to discuss photography or the visual
arts – stop in and say hi anytime.
When not photographing in
far-away lands Chris’ studio is open to the
public – stop in anytime to browse or talk
shop.
