Kids Corner - The Seven Wonders of Sayville

Matthew's Story > 10 of 21 Stories - more to come soon >The Seven Wonders of Sayville

The following story was written by one of the 3rd grade students in Mrs. Geraldine Batterberry’s Class, Cherry Avenue Elementary. “The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs” by Betty G. Birney was the inspiration behind the story.

There are many things about Sayville: It is considered the friendliest town on Long Island.

We are located on the water which makes it good for fishing.

We have good beaches so it is good for swimming. On the water we also have a wonderful park, the Sayville beach.

In our town we have the ferry terminal which brings us to Fire Island.

In our wonderful town that we can shop in has a big clock. We have great stores, like Sayville Pizza and my favorite, Dunkin Donuts.

My favorite part about Sayville is that my cousins love here in Sayville. They’re colorful and funny.

Next, there‘s Friendly’s, which has the best, sweetest ice cream and mozzarella sticks are so delicious!.

Once a year, Santa will come by our house on a fire truck throwing candy all over the place. Last but not least, my house in West Sayville. My house is warm and cozy.

Well, that’s all folks. What are your seven wonders of Sayville?
