Kids Corner - The Seven Wonders of Sayville

Luke's Story > 8 of 21 Stories - more to come soon >The Seven Wonders of Sayville

The following story was written by one of the 3rd grade students in Mrs. Geraldine Batterberry’s Class, Cherry Avenue Elementary. “The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs” by Betty G. Birney was the inspiration behind the story.

There are many wonders in Sayville, but these are my favorites:

I like LaTavola because my dad works there.

I also like Summerfest because it is very fun. My dad and I rode the Zipper ride, it was really scary! I was shivering when I got off.

Two of my favorite places are Mother Goose and my house. One, because it sells toys, and the other, because I live there.

The firehouse is also a wonder because they saved our house.

The two wonders I most enjoy are the Maritime Museum and the docks. The Maritime Museum has lots of fun events. The docks are a great place to fish and I love to fish!
