Kids Corner - The Seven Wonders of Sayville

Bailey's Story > 6 of 21 Stories - more to come soon >The Seven Wonders of Sayville

The following story was written by one of the 3rd grade students in Mrs. Geraldine Batterberry’s Class, Cherry Avenue Elementary. “The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs” by Betty G. Birney was the inspiration behind the story.

I live in Sayville. It is a great place. There are many wonderful places to go but I have 7 of my own favorites.

My first wonder is called The Common Ground. I like it because I go with my family to see the show with the Purple Lady.

My second wonder is the Soccer Fields. This place is special because it’s fun to see fiends and play on the penguins.

Another wonder is the Sayville beach. I have fun there when I go in the water and build sandcastles.

My fourth Sayville wonder is a place known as the Sayville ferry. It’s a fun thing to ride and it takes me to Fire Island. I like it because I rids my bike when I get there.

Another great place is Main Street. I smile on Main Street when I am shopping, eating pizza at Sayville Pizza and licking Italian Ices at Ralph’s.

The last wonder is the Marina where my boat is docked. I like it because I go swimming, fishing and tubing with my family.

If you’re in Sayville go to see my 7 Wonders.
