Kids Corner - The Seven Wonders of Sayville

Sydney's Story > 18 of 21 Stories - more to come soon >The Seven Wonders of Sayville

The following story was written by one of the 3rd grade students in Mrs. Geraldine Batterberry’s Class, Cherry Avenue Elementary. “The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs” by Betty G. Birney was the inspiration behind the story.

There are many Wonders in Sayville, but I chose seven.

The first Wonder is the Park.  The Park is a place for kids to play and adult’s to relax.

A second Wonder is Main Street – a great place to eat, laugh, shop, and have fun … my favorite kind of street!

The third Wonder is the ferries!  My big brother drives the ferries as you go to the beach and feel a nice little breeze in the front seat – Kick it up!

The fourth Wonder is Baymen’s Soccer Field.  As you play it feels the best when you get a goal.

Time to learn!  The fifth Wonder is the best school in the world!  Now you know Cherry Avenue School, where kids have lots of fun!

The sixth Wonder is Ralph’s Ices.  My favorite is Blackberry Cheese Cake.  It is soooo good!  You should try it.  What’s your favorite ice?

And finally, my favorite Wonder.  I saved the best for last – THE CHOCOLATE TEAR. It’s like a wonderland, sweet and chocolaty in every corner.

That’s the Seven Wonders of Sayville.  I could have wrote more, but these are the Top 7.
