Kids Corner - The Seven Wonders of Sayville

Sami's Story > 17 of 21 Stories - more to come soon >The Seven Wonders of Sayville

The following story was written by one of the 3rd grade students in Mrs. Geraldine Batterberry’s Class, Cherry Avenue Elementary. “The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs” by Betty G. Birney was the inspiration behind the story.

These are what I call the Seven Wonders of Sayville.  Listen up and maybe you’ll think so, too.

My first Wonder of Sayville is Foster Avenue Park.  Have you ever been to Foster Avenue Park?  There is a great breeze on a hot summer day.

My second Wonder is Foster Avenue Beach, because the breeze is so quiet and peaceful.

My third Wonder of Sayville is Sal’s Pizza.  Their pizza comes straight out of the oven.

My fourth Wonder is my house.  I was there when it was built.

My fifth Wonder is my garden filled with wonderful flowers.

My sixth Wonder is the Sayville Library.  Have you seen the new Library?  It is amazing and there are very good books in it.

My seventh Wonder is on River Road.  That is a Wonder because it is my Maw Maw and Pop Pop’s house.  It was moved from one street to the other.

So, those are my Seven Wonders of Sayville.  I hope you think so, too.
