Kids Corner - The Seven Wonders of Sayville

Alexa's Story > 15 of 21 Stories - more to come soon >The Seven Wonders of Sayville

The following story was written by one of the 3rd grade students in Mrs. Geraldine Batterberry’s Class, Cherry Avenue Elementary. “The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs” by Betty G. Birney was the inspiration behind the story.

Sayville is full of Wonders.  These are 7 of my favorites.

My first Wonder is the Sayville Park.  It’s a Wonder because it’s so much fun to go there with my friends.

My second Wonder is Ralph’s Ices because I love to go there on a hot summer night and get an ice there.  They are so tasty!!

My third Wonder is Friendly’s because it’s fun to go there with my family and friends and I love their mozzarella sticks and ice cream.

My fourth Wonder is Sayville Bay.  It’s a Wonder because I like to watch the beautiful boats sail by gracefully.

Gillette Park is my fifth Wonder because in the summer I like to listen to the music at the concerts.

Sayville Library is an interesting sixth Wonder because I like to get my movies and books there.

My last, but NOT least Wonder is my house.  My house is a Wonder because it’s where I live with my family.  The Best Wonder is my house!

It’s really wonderful to live in a town like Sayville.
