Ummm... we are not claiming there was a LIVE gorilla at this pet shop, are we? (as opposed to a stuffed toy or a taxidermed real one)

Oh - and wasn't "Show Place" a little further down Railroad Ave, closer to Main St., like near the Carvel and the shopping center? I thought the store across from the movie theater sold sporting goods and had a bait shop in it and was the next building over from Thrifty Beverage?

former maverick John McCain, who has refashioned himself as a mindless rubber stamp for the most inane policies of the miserably failed Bush administration. both candidates are embracing, rather than challenging, the fundamental irrationality of Bush’s “war on terror,” which substitutes hysteria for rational analysis in appraising the dangers the country faces.

Both candidates supported the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which has everything to do with violating the basic freedoms of our citizens and nothing to do with making them safer.

I am glad to know you had a good experience with him. But that was most definitely not the case in my family. Be careful with elderly eye problems with him.

My daughter has seen opthamologists since she was ten. And I never found one I loved as well as the Wednesday Doctor (Dr. G.) at Costco. That is specifically why i said Wednesdays there.     CostCo might be good for the general stuff, but if you have any issues I highly recommend Dr. Disantos on Greeley. He has been taking care of everyone in my family forever - and I didn't even grow up here - we commuted to him. For hiking you can contact the Suffolk Greenbelt Assoc. they do organized hiking. You can also hike through Connetquot park in Oakdale, Caleb State park in Smithtown. Sayville Bike Works (Jeff the owner) on Mtk. Hwy. W. Sayville across from the W. Sayville FD Jeff will inform you about road biking groups. If you mountain bike google C.L.I.M.B. (concerned long island mountain bicyclist) they have trail infor, organized rides and trail maintainance info.) For kyaking
MASK (Metropolitan assoc. of sea kayakers) my husband thinks they are out of Nassau county. If you want to buy a kayak: Action Sprts store in Oakdale on Mtk. Hwy. Out east Peconic Paddler in Riverhead sells kayaks and you can go kyaking out of there. Join Long Island Volleyball. They just started the second season at Robert Moses. Teams are always looking for people for the summer league whether your beginner or better.
