Anthony was diagnosed with Type I diabetes.
At times, it seems like yesterday,
that I took him to the doctor to get his urine tested. And
then The News. It felt like someone hit me in the head
with a brick. I was in a fog, from that moment on.
The needles, the shots, the
fingerpricks, the insulin, the food, the carbohydrates,
the exercise-all had to be learned in less then five days.
And then at times, it seems like
forever ago. So much progress has been made. Both on the
home front and in scientific research.
The latest news, is Anthony will be
getting ‘the pump’ soon. The pump is a catheter that stays
in Anthony’s belly 24/7. It gives low doses of insulin all
the time. This gives him the freedom to sleep as late as
he wants, to eat what he wants and when he wants. (Things
we take for granted). It also keeps his bloodsugar under
better control.
Even though we’ve come so far, we
still have a long way to go.
Please continue to support us, in
our efforts in finding a cure, by sending your donation,
